Olympic Manor Residence

The owners of this Olympic Manor Midcentury home, had been living there for over 25 years and had never updated the main floor, aside from a hurriedly planned kitchen remodel before they first moved in.  Working from a design by Abita studios, we remodeled the front entry, kitchen, master and guest baths. Additionally, we installed new floors in the dining and living rooms, and installed an oversize sliding glass door and two large picture windows to increase access to the patio and sprawling Puget Sound views.  The kitchen remodel was extensive, involving the reconfiguration of several bearing walls.  The finished product features FSC certified cabinets by Seaboard, recessed LED lighting, recycled glass countertops, and recycled rubber floor tiles.

West Seattle Residence

The family living in this West Seattle home felt like they were outgrowing it, but didn’t want to leave the neighborhood, and so opted to add on to the public areas of the house.  Working from a design by BC&J architects, we built a 250 sq. ft. kitchen and mudroom addition, as well as a 150 sq. ft. IPE deck.  The alterations made to the interior, as well as to the overall roof structure of the house, completely transformed the flow and feeling of the home, inside and out.  The front entry is now inviting, the kitchen is spacious and handsome, but also practical and comfortable. The detached garage, backyard and deck are connected to the house through a sunny mudroom.

Wedgewood Residence

This Wedgewood cottage had been the family home for over twenty years, during which time the only major updating that had been done was a basement remodel.  Working from a design by Abita Studios, we deconstructed the house down to the floor joists, and rebuilt the entire main floor and roof structure, including a 600 square foot addition, all while preserving the basement.  The construction utilized advanced framing techniques to minimize lumber and maximize insulation.  Additionally, we installed radiant floors, a solar hot water system and designed and built a green roof for the carport.
